All wild animals are risky to handle. Rescue is necessary if the animal is obviously injured, cold to the touch, weak or if you know for sure that the parent is dead. Observe the animal for some time at a distance. If the animal is in need of assistance, place a cardboard box with paper towels or newspaper, and keep it warm. Keep children and pets away from the animal.  DO NOT GIVE WATER OR FOOD  and CALL WRG IMMEDIATELY.

Squirrels If able to be handled are usually under eight weeks old and need their mother.  Put them in a hanging basket for 2-3 hours and watch  for mother to return and move them. If she doesn't come back, call WRG!

Bunnies If bunnies eyes are  open, and they are 4-6 inches long,  they are on their own. They should   be placed in a" thicket" near water if possible and left alone! If  they are younger,  call WRG!
